Winter Camp Report!

Jul. 19th | Posted by 0 comments

From Miriam Bookman, Rosh Machane Winter Camp 2012.

From the 8th till the 15th of July, over 50 children participated in Bnei Akiva Winter Camp which proved a shining success.

Camp was an unforgettable experience for these children and the madrichim accompanying them. It was a week packed with energy and fun, forming lifelong friendships and connections amongst the future leaders of our community. The theme of the camp was Machane ‘Brei-Shrek’ where the all time favourite movie ‘Shrek’ provided a unique backdrop for exploring the stories and themes of Bereishit. As our chanichim learnt from the stories of our past, they gathered tools enabling them to apply biblical messages to current problems in the world and write the next chapter of the Jewish story.

We also featured a live photo blog over camp, which can be be viewed at www.bneiakiva.org.nz and on our Facebook page.

A huge thank you to all those who supported Winter Camp, in particular the Raye Freedman Trust and the Maon Trust. Camps could not happen without such community support!
